ARTWORKS FOR HUMANITY
Newsletter September 25th, 2023
Hello fellow artists,
There is only a few days left before we will be painting en plein air for Humanity! That is, to help a single mother and her four children to build thier forever home. Just a few final things to go over with you all.
Please come to the White EZ-UP tent at Heritage Park, Belfast to register your substrates and drop off your mystery boxes, before you begin painting. You can set your easels up before hand if you like, but registration will begin at 8:30am. We will stamp the back of your paintings, give you water and snacks, and a Habitat For Humanity t-shirt. The ones who have requested housing will get directions to their rooms at the registration tent at the time they register. The tent will be available until 4PM each day and will act as an information booth as well for the public who would like to watch you paint. It will be available to you throughout the painting days until noon Sunday. So please stop by if you need anything.
The contact person for the Day, who will also be at the registration/information tent on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning is Beth, and her phone number is 207-290-2065. Call her for any questions that you may have.
We will be needing you to fill out two forms before you begin painting. If you would like to fill them out before hand and drop them off as you register, the form links are below Just click on them for access.

We have included a map with this newsletter to show you where Heritage Park is and where the Belfast Boathouse is located at Steamboat Landing. All paintings have to be first Photographed by our photographer Tianaand then set your painting up on your easel at the Boathouse by 12 noon Sunday. Please bring an easel to display your work, we will provide your artist profiles with your names to display on your easels..
For those who have chosen to paint in the Belfast area on or near the docks and wharfs, we have been asked that you first contact the Front Street Shipyard to get permission. They are located at 101 Front Street, Belfast, ME 04915. Dockmaster’s number is 207-930-3740/ after hours: 207-323-0798. We also need all artists who are painting in the shipbuilding yard to also get permission. This area has a lot of moving parts and your safety is our number one concern.
Remember, you are allowed to paint anywhere in Waldo County. I am very excited to paint with you this weekend for this most worthy cause. We have a very promising weather forecast for all three days.
