Homes for Families in Need in Our Community
Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County is committed to the belief that everyone deserves safe, decent, and efficient housing on terms they can afford. We have built and sold five homes in Waldo County over the past 12 years and are in process of constructing house number six in Prospect. Our annual fundraisers, especially our Arts Works for Humanity Painting Event, help make this possible.
Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County, is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. We build relationships as well as houses, along with pride in service, home ownership and community. We sell our homes to working families who qualify after going through a multi-step application process. The homes are sold to our partners, who assume the mortgage with affordable monthly payments. The home owner also contributes at least 200 hours of sweat-equity, including a minimum of 100 hours helping to build their own home, as well as other Habitat homes.
