On Wednesday at 4pm the skies opened up to a beautiful day as the sun poured down upon the little wooden lot in Prospect, Maine where 24 amazing plein air painters are partnering with Habitat For Humanity, to build a forever-house for Jessica Fish and her 4 children. When you arrive to paint the weekend of September 29th & 30th to October 1st, please stop in and check in at the information tent at Heritage Park, Belfast to pick up your information folder along with some snacks, a water bottle and a Habitat For Humanity Belfast t-shirt. Attached to this email are two forms for you to fill out.

As you know by now, the event runs from Friday September 29th to Sunday October 1st, 2023. You can start painting as early as you want and all day on Friday, Saturday and even Sunday morning. We ask you to please check in with Karla Joseph with a text or phone call at: (207) 975-3449 once you choose a location to paint and start setting up your easel.
Followers and patrons of the event would like to meet you and watch you work. This is a great opportunity to promote yourself and your work. Communicating why you are participating is a powerful way to insure the auction is a success. In the weeks leading up to the event please LIKE and SHARE and CREATE A LINK to ourFacebook, instagram, and our web pages. The more excitement we can build around this plein air event, the more bidders will attend the live auction. This will benefit us all. Artists profiles are currently going out twice a week right up to the event on October 1st. And if you haven’t yet checked out our website please go to it and sign up for our newsletter, https://www.artworksforhumanity.org/ please do that soon so that you can get updated information about the upcoming festival and be informed as to what is happening with the ART WORKS FOR HUMANITY. We send out a newsletter after each board meeting and we will have one more about a week before the event. So expect one more just before the Art Works For Humanityevent.
Please paint somewhere in the Waldo County Area. See a list of some location ideas below and please refer to the map we sent you in your packet. There are a wide range of painting sizes represented, but many artists work a little on the larger size that tend to receive a higher bid. On Sunday at 12pm we ask you to bring one finished painting to the Belfast Boathouse in Belfast. We are also asking artists to please bring their easel to display their painting. Artwork does not need to be framed, but it does need a cardboard box or packaging so that the buyer can transport the wet painting safely. We are also asking artists to stand near their works after the auction is over so that the buyer can meet you and so that you can assist the buyer with your work.

Auction Sunday 12:00 noon: Bring your painting to the Belfast boathouse to be photographed. Then set up your painting for the viewing.
